Hazardous Weather Outlook for Friday September 21

Areas of low pressure will be in place over the central Great Lakes and western Texas with a frontal boundary extending in between.  The front will be gradually shifting to the southeast.  There will be a slight chance for severe thunderstorms over much of New York, northern and western Pennsylvania, and Ohio.  Cities with a slight chance for severe thunderstorms include Columbus, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Rochester.  There will be a marginal chance for severe thunderstorms in Detroit and Indianapolis.  There will be a slight to moderate chance for flash flooding over portions of Oklahoma and northern Texas.  River flooding will be ongoing over North Carolina.  River flooding will be possible over southern Minnesota, southwestern Wisconsin, Iowa, and northwestern Illinois.  Areas of high pressure will be situated over South Dakota and Nevada.
